What matters most on a restaurant website?

The menu must be a web page, not a PDF or an image. On a phone a PDF opens separately, needs zooming and has tiny type, so plenty of people back out halfway. Text inside an image is also invisible to Google. As a web page, every dish name becomes searchable text.

Do I have to show prices on the menu?

Accepted Answer

Yes. "Please enquire" makes no sense in food. Someone deciding where to eat tonight will not message you to ask the price of a bowl of noodles — they simply look at the next restaurant.

Does a restaurant need online ordering?

Accepted Answer

If delivery already runs through GrabFood or Foodpanda, just link to them — there is no need to build your own. Dine-in QR ordering is a different matter: customers scan the code on the table, order themselves, and it lands straight on the kitchen display and prints a ticket. That saves a floor headcount and ends misheard orders. It belongs to the POS system, not the website.

Does Google Business Profile matter for a restaurant?

It gets seen before your website. Search "restaurant + area" and the map block appears above any web result. Your business name, address and phone on the website must match your Google Business Profile character for character — inconsistent formats make Google suspect two different businesses.

What should a restaurant website leave out?

Accepted Answer

Intro animations, auto-playing background music, a full-screen image with no text, and a five-hundred-word founder story at the top. Hungry people want the menu, the prices, the address and the opening hours.
